Welcome back! We are looking forward to a wonderful school year with your students. We are always available to take your calls or emails if you ever have any questions or need assistance with any medical or health issues that may arise throughout the year. We keep medication in the health room for students who need a daily medication or who may need it for emergencies or at other times and provide treatments and first aid to all students and staff during the school day. All medications need a form signed by the doctor and the parent and they are on the MCPS website under forms 525-13 or 525-14 (for Anaphylaxis).
This year, we will not be doing Covid testing in the school, but we will still have the same protocol as the last year regarding students that are diagnosed with the virus. Students will need to stay home from the first day of symptoms (day 0) through day 5, after which they can return to school wearing a mask day 6 through 10. You can email Jordan Murek, attendance secretary, to let her know of your child’s absence.
All 7th graders are required to have a booster of the Tdap vaccine as well as the MCV (meningitis) vaccine. The deadline for that is September 18, 2023. If your 7th grade student is not in compliance with these requirements, you will be receiving a letter via US mail with our clinic times and dates.
We will be doing our Annual Hearing & Vision screening of all 8th graders and any students new to MCPS on May 20th, 21st and 22nd.
Enjoy the fall season and best wishes for a great school year!
