The Minority Scholars Program (MSP) will be sponsoring the Third Annual Youth Anti-Racist Film Festival in conjunction with Documentary Film Experts, Listen Tell Media. MSP recognizes that if we are truly going to create an anti-racist school system, then it will take the voice and the power of the youth. Over the years, the power of visual media has become increasingly evident. And MSP student leaders have learned how to use their cell phones to create “Street Documentaries” as a method to push for change within our schools and communities. The trend has been spreading, and our 3rd Annual Film Festival is gearing up to be our largest one yet. We have already received 70 film submissions from across the elementary, middle and high schools, of which 15 finalists will be selected to be aired on the big screen. The film festival hopes to encourage, harness the energy of, and give voice to students as a creative means to push for positive change in our school system and across the county.
Come on out and see what these brilliant, young changemakers have put on film!
