Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Young Scholars Program is currently accepting applications nationwide for bright 7th grade students with financial need.
Young Scholars Program provides 7th graders and their families an opportunity to apply and receive personalized academic advising and generous financial support through high school graduation. Financial support includes funding for summer academic and enrichment programs, internship/research and study abroad opportunities, books and technology, and college visits. We are eager to have Maryland students apply for a chance at this generous opportunity.
There is no fee to apply and no formal nomination is required.
Young Scholars Program is the largest pre-college scholarship program in the country. Cooke Young Scholars receive the following support from eighth grade through senior year of high school:
- A personal academic and college counselor
- Funding for academic and enrichment programs in the summer and during the school year
- Internship and study abroad opportunities
- Educational resources including books and technology
The following eligibility criteria apply to this special scholarship program. Students must:
- Be currently in the 7th grade
- Have earned mostly A’s and B’s since the beginning of 6th grade
- Demonstrate financial need (families must have an annual household income under $95,000)
- Demonstrate drive, persistence, leadership, and a desire to help others
