Cabin John is hosting a week-long series of events centered on Angst, a 56-minute film and virtual reality experience that explores anxiety, its causes, effects and what we can do about it. Through candid interviews, the filmmakers tell the stories of many kids and teens who discuss their anxiety and its impacts on their lives and relationships, as well as how they’ve found solutions and hope. The film also includes a special interview with Michael Phelps, a mental health advocate and one of the greatest athletes of all-time. In addition, the documentary provides discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, along with the help, resources and tools available to address the condition. All students will experience the film on March 20. On Thursday, March 22, parents can watch the film with their kids to learn how to cope with the angst of growing up in our environment. After the film, a moderated panel of two mental health professionals including adolescence experts Julie Baron and Jeffrey Kranzler will be available for discussion.
