MCPS will extend the school year by one day in order to make up some of the instructional time lost due to inclement weather. Therefore, the last day of school will be Monday, June 15, which will be an early release day. Friday, June 12, which was previously scheduled as an early release day, will now be a full day of school.
As a part of this change, the final exam schedule for middle and high school students will be shifted one day later. Final exams will now run from Tuesday, June 9, through Friday, June 12, with Monday, June 15, serving as a make-up day. This will allow for an additional day of instruction before students take their exams. This change does not affect the last day for seniors or the dates of graduation ceremonies. To repeat, MCPS will extend the school year by one day, with the last day of school now scheduled for Monday, June 15.
