The annual CJMS staff cookie party is scheduled for Monday, December 16th and we need your help!  We need about 130 bakers to have enough cookies for all teachers, staff, and administration.

The ’24-’25 PTA Reflections Arts Program submissions deadline is this Friday, December 6th, at 11:59 p.m. Don’t let your students miss this incredible opportunity to make their mark. This contest provides students a platform for self-expression, helping them hone their creative talents and explore different art forms. It offers an opportunity to showcase their work, fostering pride and accomplishment. 

This year’s theme, “Accepting Imperfection,” invites students to express their creativity through:

• Visual Arts
• Film Production
• Photography
• Literature
• Dance Choreography
• Music Composition

This holiday season the Wootton PTSA’s Holiday Helping Hands Program is sponsoring 3 Cabin John Families. Our program relies on donors from the Wootton community, and we need your help!

How you can help:

We are sponsoring the Scholastic Book Fair November 18-22 in the Library Media Center!

Please help us to run the book fair by volunteering your time between 7:55am and 3:30pm. Volunteers are needed to assist students with their purchases November 18-22, and to pack up what’s left to return to Scholastic the afternoon of November 22. We need some help from everyone! Here’s what you need to know about the Cabin John Middle School Book Fair, which will take place from Monday,November 18 – Friday, November 22, in the Library Media Center.  

If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.

Research shows that students who read independently improve their reading skills, score higher on achievement tests in all subject areas, and have greater content knowledge than those who do not. The countdown to more Bookjoy is on! See you at the Fair!”

Wootton Cluster Holiday Helping Hands Committee

The 2024-2025 PTSA Reflections Arts Program is accepting submissions with this year’s theme, “Accepting Imperfection.” Students can express their creativity through Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. This contest provides a platform for self-expression, helping students hone their creative talents while fostering pride and accomplishment.

Submission Deadline is 11:59 pm Friday, December 6, 2024

How to Submit:

1. Reflect on the theme, “Accepting Imperfection.”
2. Choose an art category (dance, film, literature, music, photography, or visual arts).
3. Create your artwork.
4. Complete the Student Entry Form
   • Student Entry Form – English 
   • Student Entry Form – Spanish 
5. Complete the Online Submission Form. You will be asked to upload your Student Entry Form and the artwork in an acceptable digital format (MP4, JPG, PDF, etc.). If you have questions or need assistance with the online submission form, please contact Reflections Art Contest 2024 Co-Chair Amanda Moskowitz. Students submitting to more than one category need to complete the submission form for each entry.

Winners will be announced on December 16, and an art show and award ceremony will follow in early January. We encourage all students to participate and share their unique talents!
